Our coastal community proudly works together to sustain and preserve our beaches and waterways.

Carlsbad Beach Foundation™ uses funds raised from Carlsbad Beach Fest™ to help supplement Carlsbad coastal improvement projects. Upcoming projects may include the following:

• UNSTRUCTURED PLAY AREA—Project includes a life-size gray whale climbing structure, which will encourage hands-on learning while exposing the local underwater wildlife and environment to youth and families.

Estimated Cost: $240,000 (matching funds available)

• RECYCLING RECEPTACLE PROGRAM—Installation, care, and collection of recycling materials along the Carlsbad coastline. Provides leadership and makes available ways for individuals to participate as responsible citizens.

Estimated Cost: Not Specified

• OUTDOOR MOVIE EQUIPMENT—Purchase of an inflatable outdoor screen, projector, and PA system that would encourages community participation in yet another fun activity at our coastal playground. Provides more opportunity to raise environmental consciousness and promote good beach stewardship.

Estimated Cost: $20,000

• COASTAL ACCESS STAIRCASES—Replacement of 4 staircases lost to the 1992 El Nino storms and replacement of the Tamarack Avenue staircase to ensure safe access for visitors to the Carlsbad coast.

Estimated Cost: $450,000 per access
