Carlsbad Beach Fest™ (CBF™) is a fun-filled celebration on one mile of beach that encourages the preservation of our recreational paradise through good beach stewardship.
The annual event includes interactive environmental education, a massive beach and ocean cleanup, a 5K run, live entertainment, and “Hands Across the Beach,” a symbolic linking of hands along the shoreline, which conveys the message that ocean and beach conservation is the responsibility of every individual.
Funded with the help of corporate sponsors, CBF™ operates through the support of a 14-member steering committee, with Brian Ketterer acting as Project Mentor.
In 2008, an estimated 850 people attended the first Carlsbad Beach Fest™. In 2010, that number increased to 2,200. The 2011 Carlsbad Beach Fest™ on June 4 attracted more than 7,000 visitors.
The fifth annual CBF™ is scheduled for June 9, 2012.

As CBF™ continues to grow, it is projected to be CBFF’s major fundraising resource, allowing surplus contributions to support educational programs and supplement Carlsbad coastal improvement projects. View a list of proposed coastal projects.
